Visa has announced the launch of an NFT auction in partnership with Crypto.com. According to Visa, the auction features digital art inspired by the iconic targets of five legendary players that have been turned into exclusive NFTs.
The auction, which runs through November 8, brings together five exclusive works of art. It is based on iconic goals scored at the FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The goals were scored by such legendary athletes as: Jared Borghetti, Tim Cahill, Carli Lloyd, Michael Owen and Maxi Rodriguez.
The digital art was created with the help of the XK Studios algorithm, which translates the gameplay into dynamic artwork. As reported by Visa, at the end of the auction, fans who place the winning bid will receive the NFT in their Crypto.com wallet.
In addition, cardholders will receive a high-quality, printable artwork file and an autographed souvenir from the player appearing at the NFT.
Visa will donate all proceeds from the auction to Street Child United, a charity established and operating in the United Kingdom. The organization’s mission is to combat the severe stigma of street children around the world.
Visa and NFTs
Additionally, in another action related to NFTs, Visa announced that it will be launching a hybrid experience later this month: an interactive field at the FIFA Fan™ Festival in Doha, Qatar. In it, fans will be able to create digital art inspired by their own plays. Eligible fans will have the option to turn this digital art into an exclusive NFT.
“Through the immersive experience, fans can learn about new ways Visa helps move money around the world. This includes, for example, the use of new technologies such as cryptocurrencies and digital solutions that make it possible for more people to access the global economy,” As announced by the company.
