A survey organized by the Game Developers Conference indicated that harassment and toxic behavior promoted by society is harming the gaming industry. Of the 2,300 people interviewed, 91% showed that they were annoyed by this type of attitude on the part of the public.
The company released the following results:
- 91% of respondents said that public harassment and poisoning towards developers is a problem in the industry.
- On the other hand, 4% of developers do not see this as a problem, while 5% said they are not sure.
The interview also focused on this type of behavior that occurs during product development, by providing more information:
- 40% of the people who participated in the Game Developers Conference survey experienced some form of harassment by the community during the project;
- 19% witnessed a team member experiencing this condition;
- 10% saw the team suffer collectively;
- 54% had never seen this during the development of the title;
- 7% are not sure.
Cases like this annoy even the Sony team. Even Santa Monica suffered greatly from this during Operation God of War Ragnarok. The same thing happened with Respawn, because of Apex Legends.
In addition to the inconveniences, NFTs and blockchains do not satisfy
Another part of the Game Developers Conference survey indicated that only 23% of studios see NFT technology as a positive thing for the gaming industry. Find more information here!
