Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT pool, recently announced its acquisition of cryptocurrency game 10KTF, with the goal of giving its token greater usability and enabling potential integration with other metaverses.
This coding game allows users to equip different heroes with special items created to complete the tasks of each level and get free APE tokens, materials and airdrops as rewards.
Following the announcement of the game’s acquisition, Yuga Las also announced the hiring of digital artist and 10KTF co-founder Michael Winkelmann (Beeple) as an advisor to the company.
What are Yoga Labs?
Yuga Labs is one of the best known companies in the NFT space, behind great projects like the BAYC group.
Since its launch last year, Bored Ape’s NFT pool has taken the digital asset market by storm, attracting celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Serena Williams, Jimmy Fallon, Tom Brady and soccer star Neymar.
Moreover, in March 2022, Yuga Labs acquired the rights to CryptoPunks and Meebits pools from Larva Labs, with the main goal of being one of the most important companies in the NFT ecosystem.
For this reason, the acquisition of projects such as 10KTF is considered, by many analysts and community members, as a new step to take over the platform, which is contested among the largest NFT projects in the ecosystem.
