WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The US Department of Justice will “announce a significant international action to enforce cryptocurrency enforcement” on Wednesday, the US Department of Justice said in a statement, adding that the US Treasury Department will also make an announcement.
“The US Treasury will also announce a move in this area,” the statement said.
The statement said U.S. officials, including Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyou, will speak at 12:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. ET) in Washington.
The FBI Deputy Director and US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York will also participate.
Treasury representatives declined to comment further.
