the decentralizationone of the leading metaverse platforms and recently valued at $1.2 billion, had just 38 active users in a 24-hour period.
Data that Decentraland is “flopping” (a term used on social networks to denote a launch failure) is part of a report by data aggregator DappRadar. The survey also indicated that another competing metaverse, The Sandbox, had just over 500 active users in the same period, which is another number considered small.

The disclosure of the data did not at all satisfy the leaders of the two platforms, who took to social networks to dispute DappRadar’s numbers. According to them, the report only takes into account users with blockchain wallet addresses that interact within the system, and fails to account for those who log into the system just to chat.
But even with very different numbers of users presented than shown in the DappRadar report, neither Decentraland nor The Sandbox was able to show a number of users that could be considered influential given the investments metaverse platforms have received.
