September 20th is a special date for non-fungible token (NFT) collectors. It is on this date that the International NFT Day is celebrated.
Created by Dapper Labs, the date came to celebrate the origin of the standard that made up NFTs. And as a way of celebrating, many collections are featured on the major trading platforms in the market. Now understand the origin of history and how to get free NFT.
The date indicates the creation of the pattern
The choice of September 20 as International NFT Day relates to the year 2017. At that time, the cryptocurrency market was experiencing an expansion peak, which would generate the cryptocurrency peak at the end of that year.
On September 20, 2017, Dapper Labs CTO Dete Shirley coined the term NFT to refer to non-fungible tokens. At the time, Shirley chose the name to refer to a new technology that appeared with the ERC-721 standard.
Previously, there have been attempts to create standards for non-fungible tokens in Bitcoin (BTC), through colored coins. This technology made it possible to differentiate cryptocurrencies by recording metadata, which made them more valuable than others.
However, BTC has proven impractical to extend this type of standard, which appeared long before ERC-721. Therefore, the creation of NFTs in BTC did not work, and in this way, the Ethereum network took over this role.
NFTs today
First, it’s worth explaining what NFTs are. They are unique crypto tokens or digital collectibles on the blockchain.
The creation of NFTs is called “coin” (mint) and the ability to own NFTs is secure, verifiable and under the full control of the owner. That is, anyone can verify or prove whether someone owns an NFT through the blockchain.
Any digital asset can become an NFT: photos, art, music, videos – the list is endless. Moreover, the uses of NFTs are also unlimited. For example, an artist could create an NFT that gives their fans the right to access exclusive content or access events differently.
Since 9/20, NFTs have become not just an industry in and of themselves, but a cultural phenomenon where communities are built and people come together. In this sense, the first group to gain phenomenological status was the crypto-cats, which brought different images of cats.
CryptoKitties arrived in December 2017, at the peak of cryptocurrency appreciation and months after the launch of ERC-721. The group even overloaded Ethereum, which was the demand for cats.
Five years later, NFTs have become part of pop culture and their collections depict incredible sporting moments, breathtaking art, and other animals. In addition to cats, monkeys have also gained fame with their Bored Ape Yatch Club (BAYC) kit, one of the most popular kits on the market.
As a result, International NFT Day is all about celebrating the creators and collectors in the NFT community. It is also a day for people to learn about NFTs and start their own collection.

One of them is SpaceBots, a group created by Daz 3D studio to pay homage to history and anyone can issue NFTs. According to Daz 3D, the collection will include 9,888 NFTs with space and sci-fi themes.
The pool will start distributing NFTs at 5:00 PM (Brasilia time) and the countdown is already active on the Coinbase NFT site, where NFTs will be landed. Each NFT will be free – the user only needs to pay seigniorage.
To purchase NFT, simply register with the Coinbase NFT platform and connect your NFT-enabled wallet. Then pay the NFT minting fee and that’s it, you will receive the token directly into your wallet.
