Soybean production in Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso
Brazilian company BSBIOS announced on Thursday (5) the acquisition of the La Paloma industrial complex, which includes a biodiesel plant and a soybean processing plant in Paraguay, according to a statement.
The acquisition of BSBIOS, the leading biodiesel sales company in Brazil, reaffirms the company’s stance of “diversification” of investments and internationalization. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The complex has the capacity to produce 7 million liters of biodiesel per year, based on vegetable oils, and the capacity to crush 50,000 tons of soybeans per year, producing about 38,000 tons of bran in that period, soy husks and vegetable oils.
The unit also has the capacity to store grain and soybean meal, which will allow the company to trade in other grains.
The plant is located in the province of Canindio, which is the third largest producer of soybeans in Paraguay, occupying an area of approximately 680,000 hectares.
BSBIOS is already developing its business relations in Paraguay, with an investment project in the Omega Green advanced biofuel refinery, and now has a soybean cracker and biodiesel production unit.
The contract was signed on Thursday in La Paloma del Espíritu Santo, by Erasmo Carlos Battistella, President of BSBIOS, and by La Paloma Partners.
